Impaired driver flips pick-up truck

A Huntsville driver was lucky to walk away from an accident after drinking and driving.

Appearing recently in a Bracerbidge courtroom, Francis Leason, 63, pled guilty to driving with over 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.

On April 8, 2023, at roughly 3 p.m. police were called to the scene of a collision on Aspin Road in Huntsville.

A caller reported they had witnessed an accident where a pick-up truck had left the roadway and flipped onto its roof. The occupants managed to extricate themselves without serious injury but the caller suspected the driver was impaired.

When the police arrived they found empty beer cans near the vehicle and smelled alcohol from the driver, Leason. He ultimately blew over the legal limit for alcohol.

Leason was sentenced to a one-year driving ban and a $1000 fine.
