Janice Marlene Latham, born on December 19, 1964, in Sudbury, touched the lives of many with her warm heart, infectious laughter, and a unique sense of humor. Janice was a loving wife to Michael John Traves and a devoted mother to Steven Traves, Erin Traves, Dylan Traves (Paige), and Sarah (Jordan). Her role as a grandmother brought her immense joy, as she cherished her grandchildren Emily, Bonnie, and Julia.
Janice’s passing on August 31st, 2023, at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, ON, was met with grief but also an overwhelming sense of gratitude for having had the privilege of knowing her. Surrounded by loved ones during her final moments, it is comforting to know that Janice departed this world with the same love and support she shared throughout her remarkable life.
Janice’s playful personality was enchanting. Known for her quick wit and ability to find humor in any situation, she had an incredible knack for making people laugh. She adored funny memes and had a collection that could brighten anyone’s day. Janice would never miss an opportunity to spread joy through laughter and bring smiles to those around her.
In addition to her engaging sense of humor, Janice possessed several interests and hobbies that added richness to her life. She found solace in crocheting beautiful creations with her nimble fingers; each stitch was woven with love and care. But above all else, Janice derived immeasurable happiness from being surrounded by her family. They were the center of her universe—the source of endless love and pride.
No accomplishment could surpass the deep sense of fulfillment that Janice experienced through being a loving wife, devoted mother, caring grandmother, sister, and friend. She held these roles dear in her heart and embraced every opportunity to celebrate life’s milestones alongside those she cherished dearly.
To honor Janice Marlene Latham’s memory, a visitation will be held on September 23, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cavill – Turner Funeral Home located at 215-1 Bay Street in Gravenhurst, ON. Following the visitation, a memorial service will take place at the same location from 11:00 AM with interment to follow in Mickle Cemetery.
Janice’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire us all. She leaves behind beautiful memories that will forever hold a cherished place in our hearts. May Janice Marlene Latham’s soul find eternal peace as we bid farewell to a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
