AJ Groomes has started a fundraiser to help rebuild his uncle’s cabin located in Stisted. It was vandalized and burned to the ground sometime between Sunday, August 6 and the morning of Tuesday, August, 8.
“I actually can’t believe I’m typing this but the reality is that someone has burnt our Uncle Fred’s cabin to the ground.. this has been in our family for years and it was his pride and joy.. at 76 years old this was Freds happy place. Still to this day he is out there almost everyday working away. We believe it was a random act from a horrible human,” he wrote, adding that his uncle is loved by those who know him and believes burning the cabin was pure vandalism.
“We are investigating a possible connection to some other recent crimes and have notified the authorites but nothing is certain yet other than the cabin is nothing more than a pile of ash,” wrote Groomes on the Gofundme site he opened to raise funds for a new cabin.
“This isn’t a pity party and no we aren’t asking for your life savings.. we are just hoping to raise a little bit of funding so that we can get him a brand new building on the go and put this behind us.
“If you know Uncle Fred you’d know he would do anything for the people in his life and he is really our families legacy.. any help is so much appreciated and if you have any info on what happened please call the opp or let us know so we can do so! Let’s find this guy and put him where he belongs!!”
If you can help, please visit the Gofundme page, HERE.
