Man admits to drinking before snowstorm crash

A Washago man admitted he was drinking and driving when he crashed during a snowstorm in Bracebridge.

Appearing last month in a Bracebridge courtroom, Bryan Campbell, 37, pled guilty to careless driving.

According to the Bracebridge OPP, Campbell was one of three drivers charged with impaired driving-related offences during a major weather event and subsequent clean-up between December 24 and 28 of 2022.

On Dec. 27, 2022 at 5:45 p.m. police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Ecclestone Drive in Bracebridge after motorists reported seeing a pick-up truck lose control and strike a hydro pole. Officers arrived, entered into an investigation of the collision and subsequently arrested and charged Campbell.
