Petition seeks greater access for ATVs in Bracebridge

Petition seeks greater access for ATVs in Bracebridge

More than 200 people have now signed a petition seeking to expand the boundaries for ATV use in Bracebridge.

During tomorrow’s session of the Bracebridge general committee, councillors will consider a petition to relocate the ATV boundaries in Bracebridge from Highway 11 to Cedar Lane with Taylor Road as the northern boundary. The organizers say the relocation will allow for greater access to more town amenities.

“There are many residents in the eastern area of town who use their ORVs (off-road vehicles) for their livelihood,” says petition organizer Mike Owczarek. “This action will allow ORV users access to some town amenities such as gas, groceries, food and hardware. I also have support from business operators in that area.”

If Council agrees tomorrow the request will be sent off to Town staff for evaluation.
