Members of the Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to a sexual assault investigation in the Town of Port Carling.
A sexual assault was reported to have taken place in the parking lot of a private golf club off of Highway 118 West, in the early hours of July 7, 2022, between midnight and 1:00 a.m. The victim, a female in her early 40s, was approached and sexually assaulted by a male while standing outside the rear door of a white Ford F-150 pickup truck in the staff parking area approximately 150 yards (~140 metres) from the main club building entrance. The male then quickly walked away towards the general parking lot area.
The male is described as approximately 5’8″ with a lean build, short salt and pepper hair, wearing a white long sleeve shirt and dark-coloured pants.
Investigators believe there may have been witnesses in the area at the time of the assault.
Anyone who may have witnessed the sexual assault or has any information is asked to contact the Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
