Three people now charged with kidnapping in alleged high school assault

A third individual involved in an assault on a local youth has been identified and additional charges have been laid on the accused individuals.

On May 24, 2023, at approximately 1:45 p.m., the Huntsville Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was contacted by school administrators reporting a possible assault. Officers began an investigation into the allegations and were made aware of a video circulating on social media.

As a result of further investigation, an additional kidnapping charge and an upgraded charge of assault causing bodily harm have now been laid.

A 15-year-old female from Huntsville, a 17-year-old female from Armour Township and an 18-year-old female, Scirel CAMPESE, from Perry Township have been charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Forcible confinement
  • Kidnapping  

The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on a later date. Identities of those younger than 18-years-old are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

Investigators thank the public for their patience as they continue to complete this investigation.
