In a rollercoaster OMHA U18 Tier 1 championship game on Sunday, the South Muskoka Bears prevailed in double overtime to become provincial champions in Barrie.
Up 4-1 going into the third period, the Bears struggled late against an energized Dorchester team and gave up three goals. Tied at four, the first overtime settled nothing but early in the second overtime Parker McAdams fired home a rebound to crown the Bears champions at 5-4.
The win capped off a successful year that saw the Bears get stronger and more disciplined as the season wore on losing only one game in the playoffs earning them Georgian Bay Region 5 honours en route to the OMHA championship.
