A Muskoka Lakes driver will spend the next year with an interlock device in their car after pleading guilty to careless driving earlier this month.
Corrine Bauer, 53, of Port Carling appeared in a Bracebridge courtroom to answer for a March 3, 2022 incident.
Court heard that on that day at 7:00 p.m., a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting a general patrol in the town of Port Carling when they observed a vehicle travelling on Medora Street in an unsafe manner. The suspect vehicle drifted onto the wrong side of the road, forcing an oncoming vehicle to pull onto the shoulder.
A traffic stop was conducted and after an investigation police arrested and charged Bauer with Operation While Impaired and Over 80.
She ultimately pled guilty to careless driving and was sentenced to a $1,000 fine and 12 months with an interlock system installed in her vehicle.
