District Encourages Residents to Complete 2027 Budget Survey Before Deadline

The District of Muskoka is encouraging residents, businesses, seasonal property owners, and visitors to have their say on the region’s future by participating in its 2027 Budget Survey before it closes on June 22.

District officials say the survey has already received strong participation since launching earlier this month, providing valuable feedback that will help guide budget planning and decision-making for the year ahead.

The annual budget plays a key role in determining how municipal services are delivered, how infrastructure is maintained, and where future investments are made throughout Muskoka. Input gathered through the survey will help staff and council better understand community priorities as they work to balance affordability, service levels, and long-term planning goals.

“We have received valuable feedback from residents already, and there is still time for more people to participate,” said Suzanne Olimer, Commissioner of Finance and Corporate Services. “The survey helps us better understand community priorities and that input helps support informed decision-making as we plan for the future.”

The survey asks participants for their thoughts on a range of topics, including service levels, taxes and user fees, the timing of capital projects, and future priorities and investments.

District officials note that completing the survey takes less than five minutes and can help shape important budget decisions that affect communities across Muskoka.

The District is encouraging anyone with a connection to the region—whether a long-time resident, newcomer, business operator, seasonal property owner, or frequent visitor—to take part before the deadline.

Residents requiring assistance or alternative formats can contact the District for support by phone or email.
