Joe Rockbrune named general manager of the Muskoka Bears

The Muskoka Bears are proud to announce Joe Rockbrune as the organization’s new General Manager, effective immediately.

Rockbrune brings a deep passion for the game and a lifelong connection to hockey in Ontario. His background combines extensive experience in team leadership, player development, and community-focused sports management. Known for his strategic mindset and commitment to building strong team culture, Rockbrune has spent years fostering competitive programs and mentoring athletes both on and off the ice.

“I’m honoured to join the Muskoka Bears and help shape the next chapter of this club,” said Rockbrune. “Muskoka has an incredible hockey community, and our goal is to build a team that reflects the hard work, pride, and resilience of this region. We want to put a product on the ice that our fans can be proud of every night.”

As his first major move, Rockbrune confirmed that the organization is in the final stages of its head coaching search. The Bears will announce the appointment of a new head coach within the next week.

“The coaching decision is critical to our vision,” Rockbrune added. “We’re looking for a leader who shares our commitment to accountability, development, and playing an exciting brand of hockey. We look forward to introducing our new bench boss to Bears fans very soon.”

The Muskoka Bears ownership group cited Rockbrune’s integrity, hockey acumen, and roots in the community as key factors in the hiring decision.

Additional announcements regarding hockey operations staff, training camp dates, and community initiatives will follow in the coming weeks.
