A well-known Muskoka horseback riding coach who’s family lost all of their possessions in a recent housefire, is finding community support from friends, family and a generous contribution from her employer.
Melissa Fielding and her family escaped their burning Huntsville residence thanks to their American bulldog Champ, who woke them In the early morning hours of July 20. Unfortunately, the family has lost all of their possession, according to social media posts from earlier today. Now her sister has set up a gofundme account and her employer, Maple Lane Farms in Bracebridge, has said until 7 pm on Sunday night they will match all monetary donations up to $2,000.
From Maple Lane Farms Facebook Page:
“Early on Thursday morning, our beloved coach Melissa lost everything in a house fire in Huntsville. Luckily everyone including their dog made it out safely, but the fire took all their belongings. Melissa has been a key part of farm family over the last 3 years. Chances are if you’ve been to the farm then you know Melissa. We want to do everything we can to get her family back on her feet and show our support.
Her sister Vicky set up a go fund me page that we are very grateful for- and for the next 48 hours ( 7:00 Sunday Night ) the farm will match ALL MONETARY DONATIONS up to $2000. Melissa is not one to ask for handouts, so I want to advocate for her.

We also have a drop off station upstairs at the farm on the table if anyone wants to drop off house supplies / clothing – or anything else. I know it is all appreciated.
Thank you!”
From the gofundmepage:
“My sister Melissa, her boyfriend Dillion and their dog Champ have lost everything in an early morning fire. Today around 430am Champ, an American bulldog woke his owner’s Melissa and Dillion, alerting them something was wrong. Their home had filled with smoke. There was a fire somewhere in the house. Thankfully everyone escaped! However everything else was lost. Trying to raise some money so this family can land on their feet. Also good boy champ!!”

Your insurance company can cover the loss, if you didnt have any I’m sure it’s not for public to bail you out I am afraid.
