Electric vehicle drivers will soon have more charging options in Muskoka Lakes, as the township moves forward with the installation of new public charging stations at two key locations.
The project was made possible through a successful EV ChargeON Program grant application completed by Lakeland Solutions Ltd., helping secure funding to expand electric vehicle infrastructure within the municipality.
According to the township, charging stations will be installed at the Municipal Office in Port Carling and at Bala Falls.
The Municipal Office site, located at 1 Bailey Street in Port Carling, will feature eight vehicle charging spaces. The installation is also being designed with future municipal fleet charging capabilities in mind.
A second charging location at Bala Falls, 1007 Bala Falls Road, will include four vehicle charging spaces, providing an additional option for residents and visitors travelling through the community.
The initiative is part of broader efforts to support the growing adoption of electric vehicles and improve access to charging infrastructure across Ontario.
Construction and installation of the charging stations are expected to take place during the summer months.
