District Launches ‘It’s What We Do’ Campaign

The District has been delivering services across Muskoka for more than 50 years and overtime our role and responsibilities as a municipality have evolved. We’ve expanded our services to meet new needs and take on big challenges Muskoka communities are facing in order to serve you better.

The District has launched “It’s what we do”, a campaign designed to raise awareness of the critical work being done by the District, and to help make sure residents and visitors to Muskoka know what programs and services are available to meet their needs.

“The people who work for the District are committed to our communities, and they do jobs essential to our daily lives. More than that, we’re meeting head-on the new challenges facing us today, like the housing crisis and climate change.  If you’ve ever wondered what exactly the District does, and how we make the most of your tax dollars, this series is for you.” – Jeff Lehman, District Chair.

Through a series of captivating short videos, “It’s what we do” will take viewers on a journey behind the scenes of how the municipal magic happens. From ensuring water flows out of our taps to managing waste, providing emergency services, and supporting housing initiatives, these videos will highlight the indispensable roles played by our team and the vibrant community we serve.

Watch the Videos and Engage in Content – Follow us on Social!

“It’s what we do” videos will be shared across the District’s social media platforms – InstagramFacebookXLinkedIn and YouTube. The District encourages the Muskoka community to follow us on social to watch the videos, engage with our content and learn about the work and actions the District is taking in the community to meet the needs of residents.

Worst group of people our neighbourhoods have ever come across.
    It’s who they are.

Ignoring federal and provincial laws and illegally attempting to impose massive, unaffordable costs on residents.
    It’s what they we do.

Creating illegal little bylaws like 2021-17 and illegal policies like AD:22.
Including threats as in PW-4-2015-1 and massive fines if residents don’t fall in line.
    It’s what they do.

The District even admitted on TV in front of residents they illegally attempted to force them to make huge payments.
Just putting residents “at risk” of making payments like that is a serious federal crime.
    Whether they paid or not.
    3 laws were broken.
But they know they are immune.
Just another day at the District.
Why do it illegally? Because they were rejected by other neighbourhoods doing it legally.
Also because they know they are immune.
They know they can “get away with” anything.

Planning to keep almost all of $300K they admitted didn’t belong to them.
Then blaming residents for not noticing their tax “error.” For 11!!! years.
Even kids in a sandbox know you give back what isn’t yours.
How many other errors are on our tax bills?

    Crooks.
    It’s who they are.
    Zero integrity.
    “Sheer stupidity.”

The district, like municipalities is a monopoly. With any monopoly you get arrogance and entitlement. This campaign of what we do is just an attempt to justify their existence with taxpayer money. The District of Muskoka should be quiet, stay in the background and do anything and everything they can to reduce costs. Now isn’t that a pipe dream.

“Smugly Wasting Taxpayer Money.” It’s what we do.
Just don’t put that on a giant sign in Bracebridge or your home may be blown up.
    True story.
District staff planned to keep almost all of $300K taken from Gravenhurst residents in a tax error.
Even after admitting they had no right to the money.
Now one of them is CAO.
The District is the worst group of people our neighbourhoods have ever come across.
